Description for Human Rights Day:
Life continues to be riddled with inequities, as a matter of fact: often within gender and race. Entire populations have been uprooted and displaced, presently widespread homelessness and poverty are on the rise. Society therefore has attempted to address some of these inequities through the Civil Rights movement and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year’s Human Rights Day theme relates to the plight of women and the powerful movements to uplift women around the world. Because the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights) (UDHR) will be celebrated in 2023, a great process is at hand. Ahead of this milestone celebration, starting on this year’s Human Rights Day on December 10th 2022, we will launch a year-long campaign showcasing the UDHR by focusing on its legacy, relevance and activism. We invite you to join us and explore these themes and more!
