Birth of Bahá’u’lláh
Bahá’u’lláh was born on November 12th, 1817 in Tehran, Iran. This Holy Day was instituted in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, the Most Holy Book. Bahá’u’lláh refers to four great festivals: the Festival of Ridván, the Declaration of the Báb, and the Twin Holy Days. `Abdu’l-Bahá, the son of Bahá’u’lláh, encouraged all during the Holy Day to rejoice together and build the bonds of fellowship and unity in the community. Bahá’ís believe that Bahá’u’lláh is the Promised One of all the World’s Religions. Bahá’ís usually observe the Holy Day with community gatherings where prayers are shared and His Birth celebrated.
